Last night Switzerland secured a 5-4 shootout victory against France. Yann Sommer, Switzerland’s goalkeeper saved Kylian Mbappe’s spot kick. Following a 3-3 battle, Switzerland kicked out the 2018 World Cup winners. Switzerland will face Spain in the quarter-finals in Saint Petersburg on Friday.
The national Health Department and the private sector began an investigation earlier this week to explore the low turnout at certain vaccination sites. Health experts have also observed a decrease in registrations on the Electronic Vaccination Data System. “What we are seeing is that people who have registered, even insured people, are not coming for their vaccinations even when they get called (in). There are up to 70% no-shows at some sites. We don’t know why. But I can speculate that people are now afraid to go and stand in queues because there is a lot of disease out there at the moment.”, says Dr Nicholas Crisp, the deputy Director-General in the national Department of Health.
