Santa María Ostuma (El Salvador) (AFP) – Hundreds of Salvadorans carry bundles of fruit on poles on their shoulders during the Santa Cruz festivities in Santa Maria Ostuma, 65 km east of San Salvador, to thank the Holy Cross for the year’s abundant harvest. Some people wear masks of characters from local mythology and dance in the street.
