First case of monkeypox identified in SA – Times Live
On Thursday, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) confirmed that the first South African tested positive for monkeypox.
“The patient had not been travelling.”
According to Times Live, the report says that the virus is not easily transmitted and that close physical contact is needed for it to spread. Read more here
