According to News24, the Kusile and Kriel power plants tripped on Sunday morning, prompting Eskom to cut “6,000MW from the national grid.” This week could see an increase in load shedding owing to poorly maintained power plants.
“The nation is now at risk of breaching Stage 6, the utility’s CEO André de Ruyter said at a briefing on Sunday when asked if the situation might worsen.” Read more here

SA Rugby denied rumours that many Springboks tested positive for cocaine yesterday.

Lady Gaga was forced to cancel the last performance of her Chromatica Ball tour in Florida due to a hurricane. As the popstar and beauty mogul’s performance neared the end, lightning began to hit the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
“We really tried to finish the show tonight in Miami but we couldn’t because even when the rain stopped there was lightning striking right down to the ground so close to us,” she said on Instagram. Read more here
