Three arrested for killing German tourist as family statement describes horror incident – News24
In an address to the media on Wednesday evening, Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu said that South Africa is dangerous, but tourist attractions take particular care to assure the safety of tourists.
She had already visited with the deceased man’s family, who was murdered in Kruger National Park on Monday. “The family is traumatized,” said Sisulu.
To avoid similar occurrences, the government educates travellers on the safest and least safe sites to visit. In the last 27 years, just three tourists have died in South Africa. “This is a safety record. For tourists, we provide maximum security”, said Sisulu.
Meanwhile, the police minister, Bheki Cele has confirmed that three persons have been identified in connection with the murder of the German tourist in Numbi, Mpumalanga. Read more here
