It’s not up to Eskom alone to add generation capacity to grid – Makwana – EWN

Mpho Makwana, the chairman of Eskom’s board of directors, stated that Eskom alone could not add new generation capacity to the grid to assist stop power outages, EWN reports. Those who wished to create power and contribute to the restricted grid are no longer subject to regulatory restrictions and are encouraged to participate. Makwana also informed the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa) of Parliament that Eskom will investigate all options regarding the request to suspend the 18.65% rate rise. Read more here
