Eskom reports that load shedding will be slightly reduced on Friday, remaining at stage 4 until further notice. Friday at 05:00, stage 4 load shedding will begin and continue indefinitely. This week’s load-shedding schedule has undergone several changes and intensifications as a result of Eskom’s struggle with a highly volatile and unpredictable grid, Business Tech reports. The article further states that group chair Mpho Makwana recommended that the power utility might undertake a permanent state of load shedding for the next two years to stabilise the electricity situation, but the group rejected this since it would not guarantee that higher stages of load shedding would not arise.
