Scientists in Costa Rica say sloths may help discover new antibiotics

Cahuita (Costa Rica) (AFP) – Costa Rican sloths have been shown to have antibiotic-producing bacteria in their fur that keep pathogens that can make the animal sick at bay. Scientist Max Chavarria of the University of Costa Rica is researching whether this finding could have an application for humans.
