16th century Mexican church emerges from the water amid deadly heatwave

Quechula (Mexico) (AFP) – The Temple of Quechula, a 16th century Roman Catholic Church, emerges from the Grijalva River amid a drought and a deadly heatwave in Mexico. Although it often partially emerges when water levels are low, this year’s drought has left it totally exposed, putting local fishermen’s livelihoods at risk.
