Kenya: UN refugee chief says half-million people have fled Sudan


Nairobi (AFP) – At a press conference in Nairobi, Kenya, the head of the UN’s refugee agency Filippo Grandi says, “Today we pass the mark of half a million refugees from Sudan, following the beginning of the conflict.” He also says that the number of people now internally displaced in the conflict torn nation is now at two million.
