Khan Yunis (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) – Displaced Palestinians camp on the grounds of the al-Nasser hospital in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, amid ongoing battles between Israel and Hamas. “No water, toilets are closed, there are no bakeries. We manage to get a loaf of bread every three or four days,” says Umm Alaa al-Hajin who was displaced from a village in northern Gaza. The Israeli army says that on 8 November, 50,000 people fled their homes in the north, which has become the main battle ground between Hamas and Israeli forces. More than 1.5 million people have already been displaced, seeking refuge in the south of the besieged strip.
