Top News: NSFAS extends application to 21 January 2022

Students in South Africa breathed a sigh of relief as NSFAS extended its financial-aid application deadline to 21 January. NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme) received more than 600,000 applications from students who wish to further their studies at 50 Technical Vocational Education & Training colleges and 26 universities. Kagisho Mamabolo, the spokesperson for NSFAS said, “In this application cycle NSFAS enhanced its application portal such that first-time applicants who are Sassa beneficiaries will receive a real-time response after submitting their application.”

It looks like things are back on track for Prasa’s southern line service in Cape Town. Yesterday Prasa reopened the blue train locomotive at Cape Town station. The blue train will operate during off-peak hours on the northern and southern lines with more security guards and features. These trains will replace the vandalised fleet affected by theft and arson.
