How transport problems cost Team SA a medal chance at Commonwealth Games – Sport24

Team SA appealed to the Commonwealth Games after a transport bus malfunction caused one of the team’s 4x100m medley swimmers to miss the heats on Wednesday morning meaning SA had to drop out of the race as they only had three swimmers present.

Team SA said the unnamed swimmer missed the race through no fault of his own and that several other teams also missed the heats but only Team SA was appealing.

Not taking part in the race has potentially cost Team SA a medal as powerhouse Canada was disqualified from the competition in the heats. Read more here.
