Operation Dudula harasses immigrants outside Kalafong hospital – Daily Maverick 

According to the Daily Maverick, members of Operation Dudula were present outside the Kalafong Provincial Tertiary Hospital in Tshwane, yelling at immigrant patients and staff. 

The police were there to enforce the court order issued by the Gauteng Department of Health last week in response to the threats.

“They greeted patients who were of a dark skin colour one by one, to check which language they spoke and to listen to their accent. The local language here is Tswana or Pedi. If they found that you don’t know those languages, they turned you away,” reported a security officer for the Daily Maverick. Read more here

Trevor Noah, a South African-born comedian and host of The Daily Show, has gone to Instagram to honour his late grandmother Frances “Gogo” Noah and the teachings she taught him, African Insider reports. 

“I think she taught me not to allow the frustration of the moment to overwhelm the idea of progress over time. She’s part of my daily show; you can’t separate it from that,” said Trevor on Instagram. Read more here
