Ukraine’s farmers plough on despite ongoing war

Kharkiv Oblast (Ukraine) (AFP) – Ploughing fields, sowing crops, clearing missile fragments that landed on their farms: after more than a year of Russia’s invasion, Ukraine’s farmers have been forced to add body armour and metal detectors to their usual tools to cope with the challenges posed by the ongoing war. And the already pressed farmers find themselves at the centre of protests from farmers in neighbouring countries who are fuming about a slump in grain prices caused by Ukrainian exports.
