Kidal (Mali) (AFP) – A few basic tents and just enough possessions to survive is all that remains for the displaced people who fled the jihadist violence in the Talataye region of northeastern Mali: “Daesh broke us. They didn’t leave us any livestock or household goods, they even took our blankets” says Mahamad Almghtar Ag Lahsan. In this camp adjacent to the town of Kidal, some displaced people have found refuge after a journey of several days on foot through the desert.
