According to News24, a Grade 6 pupil from Cape Town endured an eight-hour journey from Simon’s Town to Khayelitsha after losing his bus ticket. Denied entry by the Golden Arrow bus driver, he walked 20 km to Strandfontein, received a lift to Mandela Park, and was eventually assisted by a security officer and police officers who brought him home. His family, frantic with worry, had mobilized a search involving community groups and law enforcement. Golden Arrow Bus Services has since suspended the driver and vowed to review its policies on lost scholar tickets.
