Injured in Italy bus crash are all ‘young people’ says doctor outside Mestre hospital


Mestre (Italy) (AFP) – Doctor Federica Stella speaks outside the Venice-Mestre Hospital, where some patients are being treated for injuries from a deadly bus crash that killed 21 people in Venice. Stella says she witnessed the accident: “We saw the bus fall 10 metres and a fire had broken out inside,” adding that the injured were all “young people” and foreign nationals. The crash happened when the bus careered off an overpass and caught fire. The victims are thought to have been mostly tourists that were returning from Venice’s historic centre.
