Washington (AFP) – The United States says that China’s launch of nine ballistic missiles around Taiwan is an overraction to the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. “China has chosen to overreact and use the speaker’s visit as a pretext to increase provocative military activity in and around the Taiwan Strait,” says US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby.
