Top News: South Africa removed from UK’s red list

Cape Town – The UK removed South Africa and 10 other countries from its Covid -19 travel “Red List”. In November, Britain required anyone arriving from the 11 countries to quarantine in a government-approved hotel for 10 days. United Nations secretary-general, Antonio Guterres, described the travel restrictions as “travel apartheid”, saying that South Africa was being punished for identifying a new variant.

Last night Swallows FC and Orlando Pirates drew 1-1 at Dobsonville Stadium. Pirates were off to a good start when Bandile Shandu scored the first goal by the third minute. Later Ruzaigh Gamildien scored from the penalty spot, which resulted in the game ending in a draw.

In entertainment news, actor Zendaya attended the Los Angeles premiere of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in a custom Valentino gown with a high slit. Styled by Law Roach, Zendaya nailed the look on the red carpet.
